The idea is to make preparing the boat for the hoisting hook as quickly, easily, and reliable as possible.
Quick comes from leaving the nylon lifting strap always connected to the stainless strap between the two aft keel bolts.

Strap can be adjusted to spread wear. At a about 50 launches per year nylon ageing is a bigger worry than wear.   I replace about every three years.

The location at deck level is quick.
